Beginner Lessons

New to American Mahjong? I'll make it easy! My beginner course is a two-lesson series designed to take you from learning the basics to playing the game.

Lesson 1: The basics -- getting to know the tiles, an introduction to the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card and rules. Building the walls, dealing and learning the mechanics and flow of play

.

Lesson 2: Putting it all together -- Learning to decode the card, the Charleston, and plenty of hands-on practice playing the game.

Optional Guided Play: For players who have completed the beginner series and would like additonal support.

No previous experience needed.

Beginner lessons are offered at select MetroWest locations and in private homes.

$125 per person for the two-part series. NMJL card: $15 additional, if needed.
